Aberdeenshire Adult Carer Strategy ConsultationThe Carers (Scotland) Act 2016 will be implemented on the 1st April 2018 and places a number of statutory duties (or responsibilities) on all local authorities to develop and publish a local Carer Strategy. In Aberdeenshire we have decided to prepare separate strategies for adult and young carers. This strategy (or plan) of what we are going to do over the next four years (from 1st April 2018 to 31st March 2022) is for all adult carers. It has been developed through discussions with carers across Aberdeenshire, and other key partners in social work, health and the third sector. We encourage as many people as possible to read our draft Adult Carer Strategy and complete the survey to give your views. You do not have to be a carer to comment on this. We fully encourage those who are supported by a carer and organisations who provide support to carers to share their views. Caroline's Well Wood, Ellon Path Proposal: ConsultationAberdeenshire Council are seeking public opinion on a proposed new shared use path, suitable for pedestrians and cyclists, linking homes in the north of Ellon to the wider town centre. Consultation on Draft Young Carer Strategy 2021-2023The consultation is now open on the Draft Aberdeenshire Young Carer Strategy 2021 – 2023. This strategy is for all Aberdeenshire young carers up to the age of 18 years old and has been developed through discussions with young carers to gather their views and reflect the opinions of young carers across Aberdeenshire, and other key partners in social work, education, health and the third sector. This is an update of the original Young Carer Strategy which was developed in line with the Carers (Scotland) Act's duty to have a Local Carer Strategy in place. Adult Mental Health and Wellbeing Strategy 2019-2024Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership’s Mental Health Strategy is open for public consultation. The draft strategy sets out the partnership’s mental health and wellbeing priorities over the next 5 years. The strategy will focus on the following areas: (1) Self-management of mental health problems. (2) Improving access to mental health and wellbeing services. (3) Ensuring mental health services are person centred and recovery focused. (4) Improving the physical health and life chances of people living with mental health problems. In developing the draft, people from across Aberdeenshire were invited to contribute to the development of the strategy, through an extensive engagement process. People were asked to talk about what type of services they would like to see in the future and what services were important to them. This work has been key in determining our future mental health and wellbeing priorities. Public Consultation - The Aberdeenshire Council (Off-Street Parking) DRAFT Order, 2019This is a public consultation on "The Aberdeenshire Council (Off-Street Parking) DRAFT Order, 2019" being undertaken in accordance with The Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, The Local Authorities’ Traffic Orders (Procedure) (Scotland) Regulations 1999 and as instructed by the meeting of Aberdeenshire Council on 17 January 2019. The reason for the changes to the wording within the Order is to address issues which have arisen, technological changes or unnecessary procedural detail that have come to light since the last revision. The changes to charges are to address an ongoing budget deficit of £244,000 per year, encourage longer dwell time in town centres to support economic activity and reduce confusion of differing charging periods and tariffs. There are many young carers in Aberdeenshire and they often find themselves excluded from personal and social opportunities including time in education. This can inhibit their development, ambitions, involvement in hobbies, and potential to achieve. We encourage young carers and as many people as possible to read our draft strategy and complete the survey to give their views. The deadline for response is Friday 9th February 2018. Online Admission Forms 2020E&CS moved from paper to an online admission form for two parts of our service - ELCC and Schools. As both their enrolment periods are at a similar time in January, both online forms went live this year.
