Macduff nursery praised in inspection

Inspectors have praised the way in which children’s health and wellbeing needs have been met at Macduff Primary nursery.

The review by the Care Inspectorate also commended the nursery for their welcoming and flexible approach which saw children playing both indoors and outside.

Macduff Nursery received “very good” ratings for quality of care and support and quality of staffing. Quality of environment and quality of management and leadership were not assessed during this inspection.

The report said: “Children’s health and wellbeing needs were being met very well. There were procedures in place for the management of medication; staff took responsibility for overseeing this. There were clear procedures in place to safeguard children. Staff attended regular child protection training and demonstrated they had the right skills and knowledge to ensure children were protected.”

There are 152 primary schools, 87 nurseries and 17 secondary schools in Aberdeenshire.
