Vote on how Aberdeenshire transitions to a carbon neutral future

Date Published: 02 December 2022

This is an opportunity for you to have your say about how Aberdeenshire transitions to a carbon neutral, sustainable future. Everyone with an Aberdeenshire postcode has ten votes and can decide which projects get funded through £333,333 of Just Transition funding.

The Just Transition Fund is a £500 million ten-year commitment from The Scottish Government that will support projects in the North East and Moray to contribute towards the region’s transition to net zero.

The exercise has moved to the Participatory Budgeting stage and voting is now open via the Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action (AVA) website

Voting closes at 5pm, Friday 16 December.

NESCAN Hub is running the current £1,000,000 green participatory budgeting exercise in partnership with ACVO, AVA, tsiMoray, and Money4Moray. It plans to set up community climate assemblies in Aberdeenshire next financial year, so if you are interested in learning more about these or anything else NESCAN does, please contact info@nescan.org.

The NESCAN Hub helps to develop and support community climate action through one-to-one help and advice, a website with lots of resources, the opportunity to gain peer support and be part of a caring network, direct you to relevant training and events, as well as help projects get funding.
