Recruiting Managers- Guaranteed Job Interview Scheme (GJIS)

Date Published: 22 June 2021

A Guaranteed Job Interview Scheme (GJIS) is in operation within Aberdeenshire Council, reflecting the organisation's commitment to being a Disability Confident Employer.  This means, when an applicant applies for a vacancy and indicates they are applying under the GJIS – they must receive an interview if they meet the essential criteria as stipulated in the job profile.

How will I know someone has applied under GJIS?

All application forms contain the question: Do you consider yourself to have a disability and wish to be considered for the job under the council's Guaranteed Job Interview Scheme?  If someone has applied under GJIS they will have selected 'Yes'.  This will be visible on their application form.

Talentlink also highlights when an individual has applied under the GJIS.  When they select 'yes' to this question in their application form their score on Talentlink will automatically show as 100 in the Questionnaire column of the Selection/Hiring screen.  It is essential, when you see this score, that you review the individual's application and determine if they meet the essential criteria.
