From gruelling winter roads maintenance over the past five months to the swap-out of the old diamond bins across South Aberdeenshire and the launch of the new 3-weekly waste collection strategy, he said teams had excelled themselves yet again.
The Director of Environment and Infrastructure Services also praised the officers behind the successful bid for £20million in Levelling Up funds from the UK Government for a new cultural quarter in Peterhead and an extension and refurbishment of the Macduff Marine Aquarium – acknowledging they would be significant and challenging projects to be completed by March 2025.
And reflecting back on Storm Otto, Alan once again thanked staff for stepping up be it through their day job or by volunteering to support our communities.
During his Team Talk, Alan gave an overview of the council’s Budget as agreed by Full Council on March 9 and then took time to delve into what it means for the Directorate in the coming financial year – talking about voluntary severance, vacancy management, procurement and service provision.
