Playing our part to keep workplaces safe

Date Published: 29 July 2022

As council buildings begin to re-open across Aberdeenshire it is important we all take simple steps to keep our buildings safe and secure.

If you are visiting or working from an office or other council location, please make sure to follow the security practices for that building. And there are simple steps we can all take to keep our ourselves and our workplaces secure:

  • Make sure to keep your ID card visible at all times
  • Don’t allow anybody to follow you through a secure door – ask them to use their own pass to gain access or to speak to reception if they are due to meet with somebody
  • If somebody does not have their ID on display, politely ask them to wear it to support security efforts
  • If you see something which doesn’t feel right report it to facilities staff as soon as possible. In an emergency dial 999.

By working together and following good practice, we can keep our working environments safe and secure for ourselves, our colleagues, and our customers.

Should you have any questions or suggestions, please contact facilities@aberdeenshire.gov.uk for advice.
