New online ordering service for sanitary products launched

Date Published: 29 May 2020

A new free online ordering service has been launched for residents living in Aberdeenshire who require sanitary products during the Coronavrius (Covid-19) pandemic.

Aberdeenshire Council provides free sanitary products for those who require them thanks to funding from the Scottish Government.

However, as many schools and public buildings are currently closed due to the lockdown imposed to combat Coronavirus, a new online ordering service has been launched to ensure you can still get access to the products you need.

We are partnering with social enterprise Hey Girls to set up the online ordering system. It can be accessed by visiting the Aberdeenshire Council website or the Grampian Coronavirus Assistance Hub.

Anyone who menstruates and lives in Aberdeenshire is welcome to use this free service, but you must provide an Aberdeenshire post code for delivery.

To order sanitary products complete an online order form. The products that are available are disposable sanitary pads and tampons and individuals will receive a two-month supply. These products will be sent directly to the address you have specified on the form. Products may take up to three weeks to arrive.

You can also place orders by phoning the general enquiries phoneline 03456 08 12 08. Alternatively, anyone with an urgent need should email ourfreeperiod@aberdeenshire.gov.uk
