What is Staff Mobilisation?

Mobilisation enables those employees who are not currently working in a critical role to support Aberdeenshire Council in providing services to its communities.  Those who are mobilised will do so on their existing pay and receive appropriate training and PPE where necessary to enable them to carry out the role safely.

What will I be asked to do?

Employees can be mobilised to any role across all council services, as the need arises, to assist essential and key worker roles in supporting our communities.  This includes, but is not limited to, the following settings:

·         Care

·         Cleaning

·         Administration

·         Working Outdoors

Are you available?

  1. If you are available to support another service you should first discuss this with your line manager.
  2. If they are in agreement that you can be mobilised they should record you as 'Awaiting Deployment' through the Employee Availability Database on askHR.
  3. Should a need be identified across the council, your line manager will be contacted in the first instance to ensure you are available for the role.
  4. You will then be contacted with details of what the job entails and any training you will be provide with.

Mobilisation is currently on a voluntary basis, so if you do not feel you can work in the role offered to you, you are able to refuse this.

Full information can be found in the Mobilisation FAQs
