Huntly Flood Protection Scheme information evening

An information evening will be held later this month to update residents on the progress of works being undertaken as part of the Huntly Flood Protection Scheme.

Representatives from both Aberdeenshire Council and Wills Brothers Engineering Ltd will provide help and advice on queries or issues raised by members of the public at a drop-in session being held on Wednesday, March 29, at the Nordic Ski Centre in Huntly from 7pm until 9pm.

Wills Brothers Civil Engineering Ltd, who are delivering the £3.5m scheme designed to reduce the risk of flooding to the Meadows Park area of Huntly and to the A920, Huntly to Dufftown Road, will give a short presentation on the general progress of the works.

In addition, construction drawings provided by Aberdeenshire Council will be available for public viewing.

Gavin Penman, Projects Manager, (Flood Management, Coastal and Harbours) Roads and Landscape Services, said: “We look forward to welcoming residents from Huntly and the surrounding areas to our drop-in information evening. It’s vital that we communicate with those who live and work in the area with regards to what is an extremely important project.

“We hope to see as many people as possible come down to see our progress and our team will be on hand to respond to any queries or concerns members of the public may have.” For further information on the Huntly Flood Protection Scheme, please visit www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/environment/flooding/huntly-flood-protection-scheme/
