People in Turriff to decide which projects should get funding

Anyone who has a project which will improve health and wellbeing in Turriff are being invited to apply for a share of £33k.

This is part of an innovative scheme called Your Voice Your Choice that will see the public asked to vote on which projects should get the funding.

Following successful pilots in Fraserburgh and Peterhead last year, the Your Voice Your Choice initiative has been extended in to other areas of Aberdeenshire including Formartine.

The funding has come from Aberdeenshire Health and Social Care Partnership, the Formartine Community Planning Group and Formartine Area Budget.

As this is new to Formartine they have taken the decision to focus on Turriff  this year as a pilot. Should it be a success other areas will be considered in future years.

People have until the 7th May to submit bids of between £100 and £3000 for their project.  The public will then be asked to vote for their favourite projects at a big event day on 24th June.

Applications are welcome from all ages, from informal and formal groups.. For further information please get in touch by email turriffyourvoiceyourchoice@aberdeenshire.gov.uk or telephone 01358 726458.

Application forms are also available from:

• Turriff Library;
• Gateway Centre, Victoria Terrace;
• Aberdeenshire Council Service Point at Towie House, Manse Road;

Drop in sessions will be held to give help and advice on applications.  These sessions will run from 3 - 6pm at the Gateway Centre, Turriff on the following dates:-
