Get a taste of culture and sport & physical activity in Peterhead

A range events are taking place in Petherhead to mark the local launch of the culture and sport & physical activity strategy.

Musicians from the Royal Conservatoire Scotland’s (RCS) North East Arts Hub will be providing a melodious backdrop for leisure centre users of Peterhead Leisure and Community Centre. There will be a selection of musical instruments people can have a go at playing and you can find out what opportunities are available with the RCS. This activity takes place from 11am to 1pm tomorrow (Wednesday, July 11).

There are also a series of taster sessions including free swimming and Amazone Softplay from 10am until 4pm. There is an Active Schools activity camp from 10am until 1pm, Active Schools athletics from 1pm until 2pm, a free bouncy castle from 10am until 2pm and Move More doctor exercise referrals from 10am until 11am and a craft session based on the Pirates! Fact and Fiction exhibition currently at the Arbuthnot Museum, which takes place from 11am until 1pm at the leisure and community centre.

There is also a life coaching session run by the NHS from 12pm to 12:45pm and 1pm to 1:45pm at Peterhead Library. For little ones you like to bend and stretch, there are free yoga bugs sessions for children at the Arbuthnot Museum between 1pm and 2:30pm.

On Friday, July 13, Captain Greybeard is urging creative children to come and join him to create pirate puppets at the Arbuthnot Museum from 2pm until 4pm. This is the first of a series of summer workshops. The session costs £1 per person.
