You don't have to rove far to find excellent value at Aberdeenshire attractions this Autumn

Macduff Marine Aquarium is joining forces with seven other top Aberdeenshire visitor attractions to offer locals and tourists a fantastic opportunity to visit the best the area has to offer – from castles to lighthouses, museums, whisky, science exploration and fish – for free!

From today (Mon, Sept 3), lucky visitors to eight of the north east’s top visitor attractions will be able to buy an Autumn Rover ticket, which will enable then to visit three more of the participating attractions free of charge. This exciting offer brings together Grampian Transport Museum, Macduff Marine Aquarium, The National Lighthouse Museum at Fraserburgh, National Trust Scotland (NTS) Fyvie Castle, Braemar Castle, Royal Lochnagar Distillery, Aberdeen Science Centre and The Gordon Highlanders Museum.

Each venue has just 1000 tickets, available in various combinations of adult, family and concession and it is ‘first come first served’. Grampian Transport Museum curator Mike Ward said:  “This initiative is designed to enable visitors and local people to experience our excellent attractions and to spread the message that we are incredibly lucky in this region to have so much to see, do and enjoy. Despite all the emphasis on the internet through websites and social media, research tells us that the most powerful marketing tool is still word of mouth personal recommendations. This ticket is such incredible value that we know visitors will experience much more of the north east than they might usually, and hopefully will enthuse to others when they get home. It is a limited number offer so I would encourage people to get theirs quickly to avoid disappointment as ours sold in a matter of days last year.”

Claire Matthews, manager at Macduff Marine Aquarium said: “We’re delighted to be participating in this joint promotion again. It is great to be working in partnership with the other attractions to offer visitors and Aberdeenshire residents such a cracking deal. We hope people make the most of their tickets in the run up to the school holidays.”

A new addition to the Autumn Rover ticket is NTS Fyvie Castle, where the ticket was recently launched. The 2018 Autumn Rover tickets are available from today (Mon, Sept. 3) and are valid until Sunday October 14 2018.
