Get active in Ellon

Cycling tricks, a talk about walks around the world and a falconry demonstration are just some of the fun activities you can participate in at Active Ellon Day.

The Clan – Scotland’s cycling stunt team – will be performing all kinds of impressive tricks, a sight not to be missed. There will also be outdoor exercise classes led by Studio Fit and a visit by Huntly Falconry Centre.

Other activities include treasure trail walks, a talk about walks across the world by Bob Davis from the Formartine Partnership, and a special screening of the award-winning film Tomorrow at 3pm.

The event takes place from 10am to 3pm on Sunday, June 16, at Gordon Park and Victoria Hall in Ellon. All the events will be held at Gordon Park and the screening of Tomorrow will take place in Victoria Hall.

There will be opportunities to have a look around stalls run by Getabout, Ellon Men’s Shed, Police Scotland, Energy Saving Trust, Sustrans and I-Bike.

Active Ellon Day is a result of a partnership between the council’s Transport Strategy Development Team, Landscape Services and Ranger Service alongside the Formartine Partnership.

The event is easy to get to. There will be cycle parking available, it is a ten-minute walk from the town centre and there is a shuttle bus operating from Ellon Park and Ride every 20 minutes between 10am and 6pm.

The screening of Tomorrow is free but tickets can be reserved by visiting http://Getabout.eventbrite.com
