Registration open for Banff recruitment and skills event

Aberdeenshire Council, in partnership with Skills Development Scotland and Department for Work and Pensions, is holding a recruitment and skills fair on Wednesday, September 4, from 10am – 3pm at the Deveron Community & Sports Centre in Banff.

A range of sectors and employers will be represented at the event, including Gray & Adams, Mears Care, HMP & YOI Grampian, Robertson Construction, Cornerstone, Stagecoach, and others. Full-time and part-time opportunities will be available on the day, as well as apprenticeships.

The jobs fair is an ideal occasion for jobseekers to find out more about the options available to them and what businesses are looking for from applicants, giving them a stronger chance of securing a job.

This represents a great opportunity not only for businesses to recruit staff, but also for jobhunters to get a foot in the door. There will be facilities for completing application forms on the day, and support will be available to those who want it.

Vacancies with organisations who are unable to attend the event will be advertised on a stand and attendees are encouraged to bring copies of their CVs.

Workshops are taking place throughout the day on a range of subjects:

• An Introduction to Starting your Own Business
• My World of Work
• Individual Training Accounts
• Applying for Vacancies Online – Aberdeenshire Council
• CV Building & Interview Skills
