Aberdeenshire Council to host Ballater Flood Study information event
Residents are being invited to attend a drop-in information session to view the preferred flood protection option being considered for Ballater.
Aberdeenshire Council will host the Ballater Flood Study public engagement and stakeholder event on Wednesday, September 25 from 3-7pm in the Mike Sheridan Room within the town's Victoria and Albert Halls.
The local authority is working alongside RPS Consulting to evaluate flood risk within Ballater and is encouraging both residents and other stakeholders to have their say on the option.
During the event, representatives from both RPS Consulting and Aberdeenshire Council will be on hand to provide further information on the flood study and to talk through the potential option with the aid of 3D scheme visualisation and alternative route drawings.
Lee Watson, Aberdeenshire Council's Principal Engineer for Flood Risk and Coast Protection, advised: "This will be the final opportunity to provide comments on the preferred option prior to submission for consideration by the Scottish Government.
"We hope to see as many as people possible attend the event and would encourage people to invite others who may be also be interested in this important matter."
