Road restrictions and closures for Banff town centre for essential road resurfacing

Essential resurfacing of the A97 Sandyhill Road junction with Bellevue Road in Banff during the October holidays will mean temporary road closures, restrictions and diversions around the town centre as the road is improved for users.

Although the works will cause some unavoidable disruption for the local community and for traffic travelling through Banff, efforts will be made to ensure that traffic is re-directed as efficiently as possible.

In order to protect the travelling public and the workforce on site the resurfacing work will require a full closure of both Sandyhill Road and Bellevue Road throughout the day for the week commencing Monday, 14th October.

Bellevue Road will remain closed for the week commencing Monday, 21st October whilst further works take place.

For traffic travelling from the south towards Banff, the easiest diversion will be to use the B9025 at Blacklaw, and then take the A95 and A98 to Banff, adding only minimal time to your journey.

Access to properties will be maintained as far as possible and when safe to do so.

Resurfacing work can be affected by the weather or other unforeseen issues, therefore the dates indicated may be subject to change at short notice. Follow Aberdeenshire Roads on Twitter for the latest information @AbshireRoads

The local bus service will run an amended route and a temporary bus stop will be located on Whinhill Road as the stop on Bellevue Road will be out of service.

If you have any queries about the proposed works, please phone Aberdeenshire Council’s Contact Centre on 03456 08 12 05.
