Alford Academy is open today, normal start time 8.40. However due to localised drifting and poor conditions in side roads, particularly to the west, we do expect disruption to some school transport. We will update this page as we receive notifications from operators

Due to the forecast of further snowfall overnight and warnings of adverse weather tomorrow, Alford Primary & Nursery will have a delayed opening of 10am on Thursday 21st November. Partial closure for pupils

All school transport in cancelled again today Thursday 21st November. School will be open from 10.00 to 2.30 for pupils whose parents are able to provide transport. Staff should contact the Head Teacher if it is unsafe to travel.

Due to adverse weather conditions, Barthol Chapel School will be operating reduced hours to allow pupils and staff time to travel safely. The school with open for pupils at 10.15am. Pupils should not arrive before this time. The school will close at 15.15. Please ensure you have arrangements in place to collect your child/ren at this time. Good morning, as there has been further snowfall in the Methlick/Meldrum area overnight, the decision has been taken to delay the opening of both school and nursery until 10 am this morning to allow everyone to travel safely and in daylight. Due to snowfall overnight and snow drifting on local roads we plan to open at 10am although Victoria Coaches (Collieston run) will not be operating today. We should hear from Central Coaches by 7.15am whether they plan to run their route. We will update this status once we hear back from them.

Due to the continued snowfall and forecast weather conditions overnight, Westhill Academy will open at 10am on Thursday for everyone. This is to allow all families and staff to travel to school safely and in daylight. Pupils should go directly to their period 1 class.
