Aberdeenshire Council will be celebrating Armed Forces Day on Monday, June 20, when the Armed Forces Commemorative Flag will be raised by Cadet Sergeant Michal Tosik, Cadet Sergeant Ben Bartlett and Sergeant Alistair Cunningham.

The flag will be raised at Aberdeenshire Council’s Woodhill House headquarters at 11.55 am. The flag-raising ceremony will be attended by Provost Hamish Vernal; Lord Lieutenant of Kincardineshire Carol Kinghorn; Vice Lord Lieutenant Joanna C. Aberdeen; members of the Armed Forces, councillors; council staff; and members of the public.

Provost Hamish Vernal said: “It is a great honour to have this opportunity to show our support of the Armed Forces community. We will be raising the flag not only to currently serving troops but to veterans, cadets and reservist too.

“We will also be raising the flag to the families across the forces who sacrifice so much so that all of our families remain safe.”
