Nominations sought for Methlick and District Community Council

Nominations are now being sought for all nine places on Methlick & District Community Council.

Community councils represent the views, and act on behalf, of local communities and are a crucial element in the democratic process.

As well as representing the community to the local authority, Community Councils facilitate a wide range of activities which promote the well-being of their communities. Community Councils advise, petition, influence and advocate numerous causes on behalf of local communities.

Nomination papers are available from:

Service Point
Aberdeenshire Council
45 Bridge Street
ELLON
AB41 9AA

They are also available from The Ythanview Hotel or the Costcutters Shop, which are both in Main Street in Methlick.

All nomination papers must be with the Returning Officer, Elaine Brown, at the 45 Bridge Street in Ellon by 5.00 p.m. on Friday, 21 October 2016.

Formartine Area Manager, Elaine Brown, said: “Community councillors can be your first point of contact when it comes to issues that matter in your area and provide another route for local views to feed in to the work of Aberdeenshire Council.

“I would urge people who live in the Methlick area and who are interested in what happens in their area to engage with the democratic process, and consider becoming a community councillor.”
