Deadline for arts and crafts awards is looming

There is still time to submit an entry for the first round of the Visual Artist and Craft Maker Awards 2018/19. However, you will have to be quick as the deadline is next week.

The Visual Artist and Craft Maker Award scheme is delivered in partnership with Creative Scotland and is aimed at those at all stages of their careers who have demonstrated a commitment to their work and in developing their practice. This could include visual artists working across all fields including drawing, painting, sculpture, printmaking, photography, moving image and film making. We are also interested in contemporary creative work conceived, designed and made in ceramics, furniture, wood, glass, jewellery and metalwork, textiles and basket-making.

The scheme offers awards of between £500 and £1500 to visual artists and craft makers who are resident in Aberdeenshire. Funds can help towards activities that move forward creative development such as the immediate costs of researching, creating and presenting new work that advances skills, technical ability and ideas.
