#ilovemyschool insights

We asked some of our brand new foundation apprentices for their #ilovemyschool stories.

Chloe Davidson from Westhill told us about her wonderful biology teacher, Miss Docherty. She said: Miss Docherty is passionate and excited about everything she talks about. She’s not just about reading from a book; she really inspires me.”

Abbie Johnson who attends Portlethen Academy told us about her history teacher, Mrs Ferguson. She explained: “She is so good at making the class enjoyable. She really cares about your mental health and sees past you as just a pupil. Mrs Ferguson makes learning fun by giving us a chance to reflect on things and she goes above and beyond to help you in any way she can.”

Abbie Noon from Laurencekirk chose her RME teacher Miss McGilvery to talk about. Reflecting on a more difficult time on her life she said: “When I had an issue with bullying Miss McGilvery was really easy to speak to. She was supportive and made me feel better about myself. She helped me grow in confidence.”

We also received a lovely email message from a pupil at Ellon Academy to say: “Mr Wilson does so much for the school and for pupils, always giving up his time and going out the way for people and always making people smile.”

We are rounding up the school term by sending a GREAT BIG THANK YOU message to all of our teachers, school staff and volunteers who go above and beyond, day-in-day-out across Aberdeenshire. You rock!
