Don't miss Aberdeenshire's Got Talent

Tickets are available for Aberdeenshire’s Got Talent, an event organised by council employees is raising funds for STV’s children’s appeal.

The event is being organised by Andrew Stewart and Sally Davis will feature a variety of music, comedy and dance performed by council staff.

Andrew Stewart, Health and Transport Programme Coordinator, said: “We wanted to fund-raise for charity and the STV children’s appeal seemed like a great fit. We have used a variety of innovative methods to encourage staff to take part, including making our own video and asking colleagues to submit their own videos.

“Aberdeenshire’s Got Talent boasts an excellent line up of staff showcasing a range of different skills. It really will be an evening where there will be something for everyone. I would urge as many people as possible to visit the Aberdeen Performing Arts website to purchase tickets for this fantastic event.”

In a quirky bid to sell tickets Darth Vader made a surprise visit to Woodhill House where the Star Wars star mingled with staff and posed for pictures.

Aberdeenshire’s Got Talent will take place on Friday, October 18, at Aberdeen Performing Arts, Aberdeen Arts Centre, 33 King Street, Aberdeen, AB24 5AA. Chris Harvey from STV will be hosting the show. Celebrity judges, including Lisa Lollipop and Martyn Smith from Original 106, will be among those faced with the tricky task of choosing the winner.

Aberdeenshire Council’s Chief Executive Jim Savege said: “I am really pleased that staff have taken the initiative to arrange and participate in this fantastic event. It is great to see staff taking the lead and being proactive. This is exactly how the council wants to and does work. I would like to wish everyone the best of luck and I hope the STV children’s appeal benefits hugely.”
