Key worker arrangements for schools update

Today’s (Wednesday 13 January) ministerial statement by Depute First Minister John Swinney on schools and remote learning arrangements includes a timely reminder of the importance of children and young people who can stay at home doing so during the current lockdown period.

Mr Swinney stated: “For children of key workers who have no viable alternatives, schools are open on an exceptional basis.

“But to ensure we reduce the interactions around schools, and so contribute to suppression of the virus, we have to keep numbers of keyworker children to the absolute minimum required.
