Applications invited to Aberdeenshire Community Resilience funds

Applications are now being taken for the latest rounds of Aberdeenshire Community Resilience grant funds.

The Community Resilience Fund and Community Food Fund are for community or resilience groups seeking financial assistance to continue to support their local communities with a focus on the recovery phase from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Both funds are open to constituted community groups, resilience groups and volunteering organisations. If the group applying is not constituted, they should affiliate with an existing constituted group, for example, a community council.

Groups can submit a simple application form to the council’s Area Managers. Each of the six areas has up to £15,000 available for each fund.

Grants of up to £2,000 for community resilience work are available and will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. The focus of the Community Resilience Fund is on projects and activities that support health and wellbeing in local communities.

The Community Food Fund is open to applications from groups seeking support with community food projects such as community growing, community larders or developing food-related skills such as cooking and budgeting. Grants of up to £2,000 are available.

Application forms and guidance are available on the council’s website at https://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/communities-and-events/funding/

Area Managers’ teams - along with Community Learning and Development, Public Health and Aberdeenshire Voluntary Action, Rural Partnerships and other partners - will continue to work with community resilience groups and volunteers in their areas to provide support and identify any gaps in provision.
