Do you fancy embarking on a new career in the care sector?

Calling Banff parents and carers who would like to return to employment or reskill and start a new career in the care sector.  A free course is being run in Banff which will arm you with all of the important certifications for joining a care home. 

The course will take place from Friday, February 18 until Friday, February 25, (weekdays only), all days worked around school hours excluding two days of certified training which will run from 9am to 4:30pm. It will take place at the Banff Springs Hotel, Golden Knowes Road, Banff, AB45 2JE.

We have developed an Introduction to Care course which will equip attendees with relevant industry qualifications.  These qualifications will provide the attendees with the skills and knowledge necessary to secure employment within the care sector.  On completion of the course, the attendees are guaranteed an interview within the industry. 

Attendees will gain:

• Protection of Vulnerable Groups, Infection Control & Medication Awareness Training – three certificates will be issued.

• Client Moving & Handling – certification will be issued.

• Emergency First Aid at work – certification will be issued.

• Interviewing skills and application techniques.

• Assistance with applications.

• Guaranteed interview at local care homes on completion of course.

• Support with travel to the course and any tools required to complete the course.

• Support with childcare costs for course times if required.

• Ongoing employment support for up to one year.
