Views sought on bus services around Insch

Aberdeenshire Council is seeking residents’ views about bus services in the Insch area.

It has launched an online survey which features questions about the current Ready2Go Around Inverurie service which was introduced in August 2021 to replace timetabled journeys on Service 41 Insch – Inverurie.

The survey is open to anyone but is primarily aimed at bus users with experience of Ready2Go and/or bus service 41 for travel between Insch, or nearby settlements, and Inverurie.

Feedback is also welcome from residents who have already contacted the council directly or via the Garioch Area Bus Forum.

Completing the survey - which runs until Sunday, October 30 - should take approximately 15 minutes and responses are completely anonymous.

This feedback will help the council understand whether Ready2Go works well for Insch, to assist in planning future bus services and to allow it to consider whether a timetabled bus service may be a better option for Insch instead of Ready2Go.

Ewan Wallace, head of Environment and Sustainability at Aberdeenshire Council, said: “The Ready2Go Around Inverurie bus service is part of a pilot project to test the viability of digital demand responsive transport as an alternative to timetabled fixed route bus services.

"While Ready2Go is popular with many users, some Insch residents have experienced difficulties in accessing the service. This survey will help us gain a greater understanding of which type of bus service people prefer.”
