Remember to enjoy the benefits of the Central Buchan A2B dial-a-bus service

Aberdeenshire Council is reminding residents in the Central Buchan area of the benefits of the A2B dial-a-bus service operated by Kininmonth Cabs using wheelchair-accessible taxibuses.

The service is open to everyone of any age and, in most cases, a door-to-door service is available.

Operating Monday to Friday between 7.30am and 6.30pm and on a Saturday between 8am and 6.30pm, customers can ask to travel at any time between these hours.

Central Buchan A2B will always endeavour to pick you up at the time you requested, but as all bookings are taken on a first come-first, first-served basis, you may be offered a trip at a slightly different time to fit in with other passenger bookings.

The service covers the communities of Auchnagatt, Fetterangus, Maud, Mintlaw, New Deer, New Leeds, New Pitsligo, Old Deer, Strichen and Stuartfield.

Journeys can also be arranged to connect with bus services at Mintlaw to Peterhead, Fraserburgh or Aberdeen. A range of bus tickets is available including singles, returns, multi-journey and multi-operator. Scotland-wide bus pass holders travel free.

Ewan Wallace, head of Environment and Sustainability Services at Aberdeenshire Council, said: “We are very fortunate to have such a wonderful dial-a-bus in Central Buchan which helps tremendously whether that be a trip to the shops, healthcare facilities or the Post Office, or simply a catch-up with friends and family. It’s easy to book and I know the operator makes every effort to ensure a door-to-door service is available for as many of their passengers as possible.”

So how do you book? Simply call the A2B dial-a-bus hotline on 01467 535333, open on Mondays to Fridays between 9.30am and 3.30pm. For general enquiries call the hotline on Mondays to Fridays between 9:00am and 5pm or email a2bdialabus@aberdeenshire.gov.uk
