Teams to relocate to St Leonard's as council prepares to release Cape House office in Banff for sale

Council teams are to relocate from Aberdeenshire Council’s Cape House office in Banff as arrangements are made to release the building for sale.

The move involves around 40 infrastructure services employees who support the council’s work for harbours, roads, and landscape services. The teams will operate from the town’s St Leonard’s office from next week.

Arrangements have been made to minimise disruption while the move takes place on Monday (Mon, Nov 5).

St Leonard’s is not open to the public other than for road permit applications and burial ground enquiries, by appointment only, as follows:

• For road permit application appointments, call 01467 538267 or email roads@aberdeenshire.gov.uk (Banff and Buchan) or buchan.roads@aberdeenshire.gov.uk (Buchan)
• For burial matters, call 01467 538267 or email burialadminnorth@aberdeenshire.gov.uk
• For all other enquiries, such as the reporting of road defects, street lighting faults, or for parks and open spaces queries, please visit the Service Point at the Town House on Low Street or call 03456 08 12 05

The changes are part of Aberdeenshire Council’s Office Space Strategy, which examines how the best use can be made of offices both for the council and for potential community or private use.

Banff and Buchan Area Manager Angela Keith said: “By bringing teams together we are making better use of our facilities and reducing our heating and energy costs, as well as improving opportunities for closer working between colleagues.

“The move from Cape House is the last phase of the project to bring teams together at St Leonard’s and I’d like to thank the teams and public alike for their patience and support while these changes have been taking place.”
