Crimond School and Nursery praised following inspection

Staff are being praised following a recent school and nursery inspection in Aberdeenshire.

 

Education Scotland commended the leadership of the head teacher at Crimond School and Nursery as well as highlighting teamwork shown by staff which inspectors said created a welcoming, family ethos.

 

The primary school was rated as ‘good’ in leadership of change, learning teaching and assessment, raising attainment and achievement, and ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion.

 

The nursery was considered ‘good’ in leadership of change, securing children’s progress and ensuring wellbeing, equality and inclusion. It was given a ‘satisfactory’ rating for learning, teaching and assessment.

 

Cllr Gillian Owen, Aberdeenshire Council’s Education and Children’s Services Committee chair, said: “I would like to pass on my congratulations to the team at Crimond School and Nursery for their dedication to helping children learn in a friendly, supportive and fun environment.

 

“I am particularly pleased to see that the inspectors have recognised that teachers, staff, children and parents are all working together in the best interests of the school and nursery.”

 

Committee vice chair, Cllr Mark Findlater, added: “It is pleasing to see that inspectors have recognised the commitment and dedication of all staff at this school and nursery. We are all working tirelessly to ensure that children and young people in Aberdeenshire receive the best education possible, so it is very satisfying when inspectors recognise the efforts made to achieve this aim.”
