Views sought on potential Braemar parking solutions

Following discussions with the local community since 2018, Aberdeenshire Council is asking for input on options on improvements to the Public Realm (Public Domain) around Braemar Mews to make the space more attractive and accessible, this could also include the development of a new public space.

Coaches currently park at the Mews but there are significant gains to be made by alternatively allowing at least 2 coaches to drop off visitors in the town centre simultaneously and park off site at the Highland Games Centre.

There is also a need to create additional controlled car parking spaces for visitors within Braemar with the development of Ballnellan Car park to produce 10 additional spaces.

Due to limited grant funding and budget available and the Mews being within a conservation area, options need to be carefully weighed up to ensure that the most effective solutions are implemented. Aberdeenshire Council is therefore seeking views on the options identified. Click here to view these options and click here to share your views. Survey closes at 5pm on Monday, 21st September 2020.
