'Take 5' video clip from our Inclusion, Equity and Wellbeing Team highlights importance of practicing gratitude

We would like to share with you another of our 'Take 5' videos and today we are looking at 'Maintaining Connections through Gratitude'.

Last time we shared with you the positive effect that random acts of kindness can have on your mental health, and today we wanted to let you know that being grateful or thankful can have a similar impact on how you feel.

In these tricky times it may feel that there isn’t much to be grateful for but in the video we share some ways we can find to be grateful or thankful about some of the smaller things in life. We often have a tendency to take things for granted so when we give thanks for every day things it makes them visible to us again and gives us a happiness boost.  It can train our brains to see the good, even amid the bad.

We hope you get a wee happiness boost from noticing something you are grateful for today. A big thank you to our Inclusion, Equity and Wellbeing Team and the educational psychologists who are putting these together. Some great ideas for individuals and families to consider.
