Ellon Service Point to reopen in new home

Ellon Service Point is to reopen to customers on an appointment basis next week in its new home of Ellon Library.

The service point will reopen at the Station Road facility on Monday, April 26, in line with Scottish Government guidance. Opening hours will remain as 8.45am to 5pm, Monday to Wednesday, with an hour’s closure from 12.30pm-1.30pm.

Customer appointments can be booked by calling 01467 532929 or booking an appointment online via https://www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/contact-us/reach-a-council-office/

Customer service points closed temporarily in December and during closure customers were able to continue making cash and cheque payments for council services via the Post Office or by using PayPoint or AllPay facilities.

Ellon Service Point will only be accepting card payments when it reopens, and social distancing measures will be in place. The alternative options continue to be in place for customers wishing to make cash or cheque payments in any area.

Aberdeenshire Council’s Head of Customer & Digital Services, Kate Bond, said: “We are very pleased to be joining forces with Live Life Aberdeenshire at Ellon Library. This is something we’ve been looking at for some time in line with the reduction of offices in Neil Ross Square.

“This has been an exciting opportunity to work together with Live Life Aberdeenshire and the Registration Service to provide customers with access to a range of services at a single location, and we look forward to the building opening fully in due course.”

Ellon Library itself remains closed to library customers for the meantime, but the popular Live Life Aberdeenshire Click and Collect and Doorstep Delivery library services remain available.

Customers can book at slot for library services or use the online chat function at www.livelifeaberdeenshire.org.uk/libraries/click-and-collect or can call the Live Life Aberdeenshire Helpline on 01467 53292 (weekdays, 9am-5pm).

Some registration services are also available at Ellon Library, by appointment only, with further details at www.aberdeenshire.gov.uk/registrars/registrars-covid-19/
