Laundry, dating from the late 19th century. Single storey, 6-bay, rectangular-plan, to the east of the mansion house. Constructed of white painted brick with good detailing with a saw-toothed eaves course. There are segmental-headed openings, projecting ashlar cills, 12-pane top-hopper windows and an off-centre entrance door with fanlight. A boarded laundry chute opening is at the west elevation. Pentice-roofed with grey slates and brick end stacks. The building is a rare example of an unaltered purpose-built estate laundry building, including many original fixtures, with a plan-form of two rooms, one for washing and one for ironing. The Laundry is one of a number of estate buildings constructed at Auchterhouse from the late 18th to early 20th century and is important in understanding the development of this estate as well as enhancing the architectural and historic setting of the Old Mansion House (NO33NW0031).
