Details Dovecote, built in the 17th or 18th century, and shown as a rectangular dovecot on the 1st and 2nd edition OS maps. It was repaired in 1976. It is within Angles Park (NO34NE0028), to the south of Glamis Castle (NO34NE0001). It is a lectern-type dovecot with a double chamber, constructed of roughly coursed rubble with squared rubble quoins, some of which are dressed. There is a partial base course, and stepped rat course and crowstepped flanks with moulded skewputts. The dovecot was formerly on the south gable of a farm building, and the back parapet is carried up to form a crowstepped gable. This is all that remains of the group of farm buildings designed in circa 1630 and no longer seen by the 1st edition OS map. There are two low doorways at the centre of the south-east elevation with a common dripstone and boarded timber doors. Above the doors, there are two timber dormers with flight holes. Inside there are 750 nesting boxes.
