Late 17th century gated entrance to Glamis Castle (NO34NE0001), erected at the current location in 1774, also known as the Outer Kirk Gates. Square-section ashlar gatepiers with rusticated long and short-work quoins, 'book rest' caps with cornice and carved orb finials, buttressed to the rear (north) elevation. Ashlar-coped, lean-to flanking walls. In 1774, the court walls close to the castle were demolished this gateway and the De'il Main Gate (NO34NE0087) and Gladiator Gates at North Lodge (NO34NE0104) were relocated to the policy perimeters. At the southeast perimeter location close to St Fergus's Church, this gate became known as Church Lodge.
