Tower, possibly built in the 14th or 15th century, raised and crenellated, probably in the late 18th century (circa 1774). It is rubble-built, and approximately 14 feet (4.3 metres) high. There is a doorway with chamfered arrises at the north-west, a blind window to the west, a row of oval openings with ashlar margins close to the top of the tower, which has a crenellated parapet and is roofless. This tower, along with the West Tower (NO34NE0107), formed part of the former court wall that was removed when the landscape was remodelled in 1774. The parapet detail is strikingly similar to that added to the Main Gate (NO34NE0087) in 1774. It is shown on the OS 1st edition map as a circular feature, but not named. On the OS 2nd edition map it is depicted as 'East Tower (Ruin)'.
