Walled garden, built in 1866 by the 13th Earl and attributed to Archibald Fowler of Castle Kennedy. Five acre walled garden enclosed by red brick walls with flat ashlar coping, heightened to the north to incorporate a heating system. To the centre of each elevation are classical ashlar gateways with decorative wrought-iron gates and flanking pedestrian gateways with roll-moulded arrises. To the north of the northwest boundary are a range of full width, lean-to, crowstepped outbuildings/dwellings of dressed rubble with stop-chamfered arrises. To the southeast elevation of the northwest boundary are a range of lean-to greenhouses, with an ashlar base, timber astragals and doors. These were rebuilt in 1954-6 and still produce fruit, vegetables and flowers. The walled garden was also known as the 'Kitchen, Fruit and Forcing Garden'. It cost £7,800 to build, with £3,500 being spent on glasshouses.
