Details Site of a possible Roman signal station, indicated by 'a very faint dark ring on RAF air photograph' according to a map annotated by OGS Crawford. The field was under crop at the time of archaeological investigations in 1958 and 1975 and no indication of any feature was seen here. This site is, however, to the south of the course of the Roman Road as revealed by cropmarks.
