Former linen works, still in industrial use, built in 1869 by Robertson and Orchar with later alterations. It is first shown on the 2nd edition OS map as a large rectangular linen works, with various additions to the east and west long elevations, rectangular buildings to the north and east and a pond to the south-east. Current maps show some further additions and alterations, and the pond has been removed. The works include a finishing block, weaving sheds, stores, steam-engine houses, boiler houses, stores and other ancillary blocks. It was taken over in the 1970s, at which time the steam-engines, line shafts, fire station, blacksmith's shop, waste store, water tower and chimney stack was removed, and the pond infilled. Despite the removal of these elements, the buildings are largely intact. They are mostly constructed from snecked rubble, with piended slate roofs with cast-iron cupola ventilators. It has a two-storey front block, with a single-storey outshot and rear. There is an office block at the south-west angle with a platform roof.
