Towerhouse, built in the late 15th century with some 16th century additions, and inhabited until 1760, when the mansion house to the south-east was constructed. It is shown on the 1st edition OS map as an L-plan building named 'Auchinlech Castle', but by the 2nd edition OS map it is named 'Affleck Castle'. The wing forming an L-plan is at the south-east corner. It is a four-storey and attic L-plan towerhouse, with gun-loops to the ground floor, and an arched doorway in the re-entrant angle. Two battlemented cap-houses surmount the building. The corbelled ashlar parapet and angle turrets are 16th century additions, as are the crow-stepped gables to the attic and the chimney stacks. Within the castle, the wing on the east elevation forming an L-plan features a turnpike stair, and the thick coursed rubble walls house a number of mural chambers. The first floor is vaulted, and the second floor houses the hall. There is a small oratory on the third floor, with a holy water stoup, a piscina, corbels for candlesticks and an ambry. It was inhabited until 1760, but remains in excellent condition. Despite not being inhabited since 1760, it remains in a good condition.
