Details Site of a cup marked stone, found at Welton before 1882, and possibly earlier than 1827. It measured 0.91m by 0.78m, bearing 17 cups, 4 surrounded by a single ring, 3 by a double ring, and 3 by a triple ring. In 6 cases, radial grooves spring from the cup. The slab was preserved at Dunnichen House. Dunnichen House was demolished and rebuilt some time before 1980, the cup-marked stone was built into the chimney structure of the new Dunnichen House at NO 5095 4889. Part of the stone is said to still remain in the ground at St Peter's Well according to a note by the antiquarian Dr Hibbert, c.1827, attached to a drawing of the Welton slab.
