Former parish church, now in residential use and named 'Soli Deo'. The present church building and graveyard were constructed in 1815, replacing an earlier church (possibly 17th century) which may itself have replaced an older chapel. The construction of the 17th century church may have been to replace the earlier Parish church at Aikenhalt (NO55SW0007), which has fallen into decay. There is a 15th century tombstone, which may have been brought from Aiknehalt church, inset stones from 1673 and 1758, and a mort bell dated 1703. It is shown on the 1st edition OS map as a rectangular building with a central projection on the south elevation, and an unroofed enclosure attached to the east elevation. It is surrounded by an oblong graveyard with rounded corners. On the 2nd edition OS map, there has been an extension added to the west elevation of the church. It is a small oblong gothic building, constructed of rubble and slate with crowstepped gables, a battlemented bell-tower and later session house. The north wall has been coated with a grey wet dash harl. The rubble-built enclosing graveyard walls are on average 6 feet high, and features ashlar gatepiers with pyramidal tops. Within the churchyard is the Commonwealth war grave of Warrant Officer Alan Johnson, RAF.
