Mansion house, still in use, which probably dates to the late-16th century. To the south of the B-listed mansion is a B-listed sundial, dated 1755. The mansion was remodelled in 1854 or 1862 by John Henderson, architect. On the 1st edition OS map it is shown as a U-plan house, open to the south. The east wing is a shallow L-plan, and there are small projections to the north and east elevations. It is set with wooded gardens, with a sundial to the south. On the 2nd edition OS map that gardens have been more formalised, with some areas of trees removed and a small walled area to the south-east (NO 4651 5373). Current maps show kennels to the west of the mansion. The walled garden has been extended, and a sundial added within it. It is a two-storey mansion house, with an open courtyard. The original building was T-plan, and internally the east wing has been massively altered to make it an integral part of the mansion, however there are remains of the turnpike stair, a small chamber at the south-west re-entrant angle and two moulded fireplaces at the former second floor level. To the south of the house is the sundial dated 1755. It is made up of a carved freestone column, and is square with chamfered corners and an inset marble dial.
