Well, still in use. It was formerly known as 'The White Well' and renamed by the Earl of Dalhousie after a visit by Queen Victoria in September 1861. A gothic granite crown encloses the well, constructed in circa 1862 by the Earl of Dalhousie to commemorate the visit. It is made up of six low granite ashlar piers with six bull-faced granite semi-arcs joining at a central point with a cross finial. There are two concentric granite ashlar rings on the ground below the crown encircling the source of the spring. The outer ring opens to form an exit for the spring. There is a bronze plaque on the inner face of one pier, with an inscription describing Queen Victoria's visit.
