Details Farmstead, still in use, built in 1826 by James Black, architect, with later alterations. It is shown on the (circa 1846) 1st edition OS map as a rectangular main building with several internal courts. A rectangular outbuilding is shown to the South and an F-shaped building to the East, where there is also a substantial mill pond and dam and a further F-shaped building. By the (circa 1888) 2nd edition OS map, most of the courts of the main building have been infilled, a small rectangular building is shown to the South-West, the two F-shaped buildings have been reduced in size and further buildings are shown to the North-West. The steading has a pedimented centre bay, surmounted by a circular doocot tower. This is constructed of ashlar with a rubble base and slated conical roof. A cartouche within the pediment is inscribed 'JML'.
