Farmstead and farmhouse (NO54NE0124), still in use, the home farm for Gardyne Castle (NO54NE0007). The farmhouse is 18th century, and the steading is mostly from the 18th and 19th century. On the 1st edition OS map it is shown as a C-plan steading, open to the east with a wing from the south partially covering the court. The north range is detached. There is a rectangular building to the north. On the 2nd edition OS map there are additional buildings within the court, and the building to the north has been reduced in size. There is a well shown to the north of the steading. Current maps show some further additions to the steading. The steading is rubble-built with slate roofs, and features inset carved stones that predate the 18th century. The farmhouse is within the detached north range, and is a plain two-storey rubble-built building with a slate roof and a single-storey wing. The rectangular building to the north is a cottage (NO54NE0125). Standing building survey was carried out by Cameron Archaeology in May 2021 ahead of proposed development. Seven buildings were recorded, and three main phases of construction identified, the first prior to the mid 19th century, with additions in the late 19th century and further alterations and additions in the 20th century. The buildings are mainly of stone rubble construction, the steading with stone mouldings. The initials VM (or possibly WM) are incised onto the south jam of the doorway at the north end of the west wing.
