Details A Late Bronze Age bronze socketed axe, found at Craichie. Classified by Coles as being of Decorated type and reclassified by Schmidt and Burgess as of Sompting type. It is slightly asymmetrical with a hammered blade and marks of sharpening. Its dimensions are: 12.2 cm long, 2.7 x 3 cm wide at the mouth, 6.8 cm wide at the cutting edge and it weighs 307 g. It is preserved in the British Museum.
