Details A Middle Bronze Age bronze flanged axe, formerly in the collection of John Sturrock, Monikie, was shown at the 'Palace of History' exhibition in Glasgow in 1911 and is now in Dundee Museum. The axe is badly corroded, the brown patina is flaking off and its loop is missing. Its dimensions are: 11.3 cm long, 15mm wide at the butt, 33mm wide at the cutting edge and it weighs 210 gms.
