Remains of a cairn. The 'Court Law', an artificial mound of stones covered with earth, about 4.57 m (15 ft) high, stood in a field west of Aldbar Church. Stuart records that when it was taken down (before 1856), several cists were found in it. They contained urns, and, in some instances, human bones. The Ordnance Name Book (1861) notes that, though much reduced the centre of the knoll still stood 1.5-1.8 m (5-6 ft) above the level of the field in which it stood. When revisited by the OS in 1958, cairn existed only as a featureless swelling in a field, circa 30 m in diameter and 1 m in height. A few stones lie scattered about. The farmer stated that the plough turns up large stones and slabs from time to time, and this, together with Stuart's information, confirms that this is the site of the cairn.
