Details Cropmarks of a number of pits were recorded during aerial reconnaissance by the CUCAP in 1979. One of these pits was excavated in advance of A94 widening in 1987 and was considered to be probably relatively modern and because of its fill containing a great deal of rotted fibrous matter it was interpreted as a tree throw. A second trench to the east revealed undisturbed horizons and no archaeology.
